I use this mounted on the windshield with my iPhone and it is perfect! The mount is easy to attach and it stays attached until you remove it, and the iPhone fits perfectly! Definitely worth the money.

Bought this item to replace the NOKIA one that came with my 5800XM. This is much better. It is much more gentle on the phone and I can use it with other devices. It feels super solid and sticks to the windshield like glue. What more could you want?

 Nice product, small issue with Motorola DroidJan 28, 2010
This is a solid item, and I'd definitely recommend it. I got it because it can adjust to portrait or landscape for my Motorola Droid. And it's cheap.
One minor problem if you're using it with the Motorola Droid: the grips happen to align exactly with the camera button, so every time I stick my Droid in there and squeeze, it thinks I want to take a picture. All you have to do is tap the "back" button to exit out of the camera, but it's still kind of annoying. And if you flip it the other way (which works since it swivels 360 degrees), the grips cover up the charging socket.
Still, it's cheap and works just fine, so I'm not complaining.

The Arkon SM215 windshield and dash mount for universal devices has an excellent quality mount that stays firmly attached to your windshield, unlike other mounts. The mount pivots so your device can be viewed in portrait or landscape modes. Clearly this universal mount was designed in mind for smaller devices like cell phones, but does fit PDAs, and iPhones. I purchased one for my wife's iPhone 3G that has a protective case. It bearly fits. I would like to see Arkon make another variation using the same suction cup mount and pivoting arm, but a larger holder with better adjustments for an iPhones that have protective cases.

This phone holder is well made and well designed.
My main concern was that the suction cup wouldn't work effectively and the holder would fall every once in a while. But the suction cup is tough and is sticking like a pit bull.
I actually use mine to hold up my phone on my glass desktop. Works great for that.
In fact, I'm ordering another one to hold my MP3 Player while I transfer music. It's a little shallow for the mp3 player (belt hook on back of case.) But still works well.
