Great product. Great service/vendorMar 16, 2010 Great-grandson wanted a fire truck "toy box". This was actually the product he wanted and we then understood after visiting his pre-school and seeing what he was trying to describe. Thanks!
Playhut has ruined a great toy.Feb 11, 2010 We had one of these fire trucks for five years and our kids played with it constantly. It stood up to years of rough play by two kids who hurled themselves onto the wood floor through its sides, knocking it over, dragging it all over the house and having a really good time. Finally after five years, one of the metal parts of the frame broke through the fabric edges, making it unsafe, but we were very impressed it had lasted as long as it did. When we replaced this toy with what we assumed would be an exact duplicate, we could tell immediately that Playhut had made changes. The material itself felt thinner and more flimsy (more like nylon, although I'm not sure what they used before) and wasn't as flexible. The second time my kids were playing with the tent, the small piece of nylon that attaches the steering wheel pulled off of the wall so that the steering wall cannot be attached. It will need to be sewn back on (if this is even possible on nylon). Right after that, the black edging started pulling away from the red plastic walls all over the tent, so that there are now many holes in the edges of the tent. Very soon the metal supports will begin sticking out or one of the holes will spread and rip the tent open. I do not think kids can play with this toy without ruining it immediately. I am SO disappointed, and so are my kids, that Playhut has taken a good toy and made it an absolute piece of garbage. At the same time as the second fire truck, we bought the X-9 Rocket tent as well, knowing how much our kids loved the original fire truck tent. The rocket tent's connecting pieces have now all ripped off as well, so that the tunnel parts will not attach to the tent. Both of these toys cost $35-40. At this price, I'm absolutely furious with the obvious substitution of poor quality materials and craftmanship that have resulted in two very sad children in our house.
Not supped to be "educational" but its a great lil tent!Feb 06, 2010 Only thing that would make it better is if it had a built in bottom too... but my son loves it! (16 months)
Playhut Fire EngineJan 30, 2010 This Playhut didn't ever stand up appropriately (the side walls were slanted) and, therefore, it was returned. Perhaps the wire supports could be replaced with pvc or something that can be set up or down and hold the sides straight. It was purchased for a 16 month old toddler who love the idea, but we couldn't make it work for him because it kept falling over.
playhut fire engineJan 29, 2010 My 2 grandsons ages 17 months and 4 years spend a lot of time in it and love to drag it all over the house for hours. It is so nice to have a toy that brings them together considering their age difference.
