    3Ok but doesn't deliver advertised wattageJul 10, 2010
This unit is a good inverter as long as you don't expect it to live up to the claimed surge capacity. I have used it to run a small cabin that is off grid with a very large battery bank (675 amp hours, trojan t-105s). I also have a 3000 watt generator with a surge capacity of 3500 watts will run the cabin just fine, but is noisy so I don't like to use it. When this inverter is asked to surge to accommodate the demands of the well pump, the inverter goes into overload mode and shuts down. Running routine loads in the range of 500-1000 watts has not been a problem and the electronic lcd display of watts, battery voltage, and output voltage is nice. Just don't expect to get anywhere near 4000 watt surge capacity if that is what you really need. I guess you get what you pay for.

Purchase this inverter for my rv, within two days the led screen stopped working , only shows part of the voltage numbers. The cables that came with the unit are to large for a standard 12 volt plug. Going to try and return the unit.

1Amazon is screwing up the reviewsOct 16, 2009
I always check the reviews when purchasing and place a lot of weight on them. What I just discovered is that Amazon is lumping them together. By way of example, although not immediately apparent, the reviews for this 3,000 watt inverter are actually for the 1200 watt model.

As I said, this is not apparent if one just clicks on reviews for this larger model and goes no further. I buy many products from Amazon prime and am not pleased to find this out.

    Amazon, fix this now!

The product worked pretty good. It just couldn't keep up with the refrigerator on the car battery. Probably refrigerator is too big.

    4Decent product for the moneyJun 26, 2008
The power leads supplied are short, and the location for connecting them to the inverter is too low to allow the terminals to clear a shelf or any flat surface, so the unit must hang over an edge or the terminals bent, or turned sideways.
