54WD for your IpodJul 01, 2010
I used this in the pool, at the beach, in the canoe, camping. It has prevented Ipod damage and made happy campers dance for over two years now. It's not just water, but sand and mud proof too. True, sound degrades with loss of battery power, put some more batteries in it, dummy! Use top quality batts (like uknow who Ultra or bunnyrabbit Lithiums), and you'll get a full day outta the unit.
4/5 stars on control because the touch wheel has limited response behind the silicone, but is still usable.
This is my second one because I dropped the first one to concrete from six feet and the housing cracked. It was repairable, but I put it in the pool b4 I noticed the crack, and did damage to the inside(but the Ipod was fine!). Truly the best product for music near the water's edge, I killed a lot of stuff to get to this point. Cheaper now than my first one two years ago!

5Great Box overall with only a couple short falls.Jun 27, 2010
Slightly smaller than I imagined, but I'm still impressed. I'm very surprised on the battery choice though. To get some decent life out of the unit at full volume one would think the designer would have incorporated the use of C or D size batteries resulting in minimal weight gain.

Purchasing experience wise, there needs to be more clarity on the differences between the models as to what iPod each supports and if there is a plan to support the latest iPOD, either with a new model or a foam wedge if it fits in this existing one.

Overall, 4.8/5.

5Good soundJun 16, 2010
I bought this to use in my sportsman kayak no leaks and very good sound, it is a little difficult to use the click wheel, but when I put on a playlist I don't need to change it. Power and volume controls are easy to use. I am using a 80 gig iPod video, nice fit!

5Totally worth it!Jun 08, 2010
This waterproof iPod player is the best thing I've purchased in a long time! Perfect for singing in the shower, swimming in the pool, floating in the lake, romping at the beach and everything else! I read all the other reviews and was a little hesitant/nervous to purchase something that puts my iPod at risk, but it was totally worth it.
The stand/strap is perfect for use in the shower, no need to worry about getting out and changing a song, the little scroll/wheel thing on the front gives you access to change pretty much everything (yes, as the player gets wetter it's harder to control the volume on the iPod but there is an external volume on the player, so just turn the volume all the way up on the iPod and use the external controls). The sound is great. Sure, if I were outside at the park or inside a house a real stereo would be way better, but this thing is surprisingly small (smaller than an 8.5x11 sheet of paper *but obviously thicker* but I don't have it with me so I don't know the exact measurements), and come on, it's freakin water proof! Took it floating at the lake, rested it on a floatie and every time it got splashed or dropped in everything was fine. Yes, if you fill the speakers up with water the sound stops but just pick it up, shake it off and the sound comes right back. It floats, my iPod survived the lake, the beach and the pool and it still works just fine in the shower. I can't believe how long I was going around without one of these things. If it gets sandy at the beach, just rinse it off and you're good to go!
The only reason I can imagine people saying it's not loud enough: the instructions tell you to put your iPod settings on a specific sound setting (what that setting was I do not remember)... that significantly decreased the volume compared to just leaving the regular settings on the iPod. This is probably to keep the speakers from being blown out, but I would suggest leaving your regular iPod settings, turn the volume up *almost* all the way on the iPod and just use the external volume on the player and use your brian, don't blow out the speakers (even though it's fun to watch the water jump out of the speakers during songs with lots of bass!)
Completely worth it, if you have any doubts I'd say BUY IT!

2Volume is Horrible!Mar 02, 2010
The volume on this is so low you can barely hear it. I don't recommend use for anything outdoors. Maybe for in the shower or something and that's about it. The construction seems sturdy and it's pretty easy to use. Just couldn't hear the darn thing!
